Our Love Story

Our Story began in the summer of 2014.

My best friend Symaron and I started going to the singles ward when we turned eighteen. She knew a guy named Casey from  4-H, so we hung around him a bit. Casey happened to be best friends with Dallin, which is how we met! The four of us (Me, Symaron, Dallin and Casey) hung out a few times after family home evening, when we'd go to Dairy Queen.

In June the singles branch organized a service trip to Alturas lake, where we would be deep cleaning and repainting the cabins at a LDS campsite. It was on this trip that Dallin and I really got to know each other and started getting feelings for each other.

After Alturas we continued to hang out in a group of four until one night. all four of us were planning on helping Dallin milk on his family's dairy, since me and Symaron had never milked before. However, Casey and Symaron ended up canceling. I still went even though I was really nervous. I suppose you could call this our first date. I drove to Declo in my ugly chore clothes and pipe boots, ready to milk some cows. I could kind of tell that Dallin liked me and I think he knew that I kinda liked him.

We milked a few cows and I thought that it was really gross, ha. So, we didn't end up staying in the milk barn too long.  We looked at the little calves and then decided to clean up and go into Burley to get some Dairy Queen. We got our ice cream and were headed home in Dallins nice big pickup truck. It was a stick shift, which I hadn't drove before. So Dallin decided to teach me!! I wasn't doing that great and killed it only a million times.
At one stop sign I killed it and suddenly Dallin scooted a little closer and KISSED me! We hadn't even held hands yet. (Guess he just knew it was meant to be!) We eventually made it back to his house and before we knew it, it was time for me to go home. It was a good first date!

Our relationship really skyrocketed after that, but we had some ups and downs. I had a lot of walls come up that prevented our relationship from furthering. I was afraid mostly, because of past experience.
Dallin was extremely patient with me and we took our time. Eventually, around the middle of July, my walls went down and I really trusted Dallin.

We had a lot of good times that summer and saw each other at least every other day. We had picnics, went to the movies, hiked to Independence Lakes, biked down Mount Harrison, and rode in the tractor together while Dallin worked.

As things became more serious and we talked about marriage, more feelings of doubt arose and I was worried we weren't meant to be together. Dallin was able to pray and then easily knew that he was supposed to marry me, but it took longer for me to receive my answer. It took a lot of praying and finally one morning I was reading the Book of Mormon and found my answer. I'd never been so excited!

After more praying we finally decided when we were supposed to be married. Dallin asked my dad permission and we picked out a ring. The waiting game began. I felt like Dallin would never ask me!

Finally, August 21st, on a cloudy day Dallin took me for a picnic up at Mount Harrison. I loved picnics and it was perfect. I was a little suspicious he would propose, but I didn't know for sure.

After we finished our sandwiches and chips, Dallin asked me to stand. We hugged and kissed and then suddenly he got down on one knee and asked me to marry him! I said yes.(How could I resist that handsome face?)

The rest is history. We were married November 8, 2014 and are living our happily ever after.
