Dallin and I have been married a year! This was what I wrote on Facebook and Instagram on our anniversary.
"It's been 1 year, 12 months, 52 weeks and 365 days since I married my best friend. It was the best decision i have ever made and has made me so happy. I love you. Heres to another year of learning and loving!"
It is such a blessing to be married to Dallin. He is so thoughtful and kind and does so much for me. I'm lucky that he is mine and I hope someday to treat him as well as he treats me. I love him so much.
Since our anniversary I have been thinking a lot about our future and what I want it to be. I've been going over my patriarchal blessing and pondering what I need to do and what we need to do as a couple to accomplish the vision that our Heavenly Father has for us as individuals and for our future family. Last FHE we talked about some things that we can do and made a few goals.
The first, that is mostly for me, is no social media/ technology until after 6 pm. This gives us time to finish our homework and spend quality time with each other without the distraction of technology. The second goal that we made was to more regularly hold Family Home Evening. We can't do this on Monday since Dallin has work from 6-10 pm but we can surely make time for it on Sunday after church. Our third and last goal is to have more meaningful couple prayers morning and night.
Lately life has been good but with every week that passes the more anxious I am to be finished with college and school for good. We found out that Dallin will be finished next fall! Which is exciting. He will graduate in December 2016. Unfortunately I'll have one more semester after that so I will graduate in April of 2017. It seems SO FAR AWAY. I just want to be done and start the next stage of our life. Ugh. Patience is a virtue I suppose.
However, something that has gotten me really excited lately is an idea I had about starting my own business! I am so excited! I will be selling baby crib rag quilts and probably some burp cloths and smaller blankets as well. I'm currently working on my practice quilt right now. I've gotten really frustrated and messed up quite a few times but I guess practice makes perfect. I'm hoping that I'll have a good hang of it by the time this practice quilt is finished. But I am seriously so excited to start. It feels right.

A Pretty Dang Good Life
Since my last post things have definitely improved. In fact I have made quite a few successful dinners haha, but I'm still learning. I even made a successful yummy peach cobbler!
School has been going better. We are already almost halfway through the semester, so that's exciting. I'm doing better in my hard classes than I thought we would but still can't wait for them to be over. However, the longer I go to school here at BYU-I, the more I realize how blessed Dallin and I are to be going to a school where the Spirit is not only present, but is nourished and invited constantly in our classes. We can't wait to be done with college and especially homework, but hey only three more semesters.
We are getting more and more settled in here in Rexburg and our little two bedroom apartment at Heartland is feeling more and more at home. I still haven't decorated a lot, but we don't have a lot of extra money to spend on decor. But thats just fine. I used what we do have and it looks just fine for a couple poor college students.
We had the opportunity to take a break last weekend and go to Salt Lake City where we went the the Hogle Zoo! I remember it being a lot bigger and a lot more exciting when I was just a little girl, but it was still a good time with my handsome husband. We also tried In N Out on our way home. Delicious.
I've just got to say how grateful I am for Dallin. He honestly is so much more than I ever dreamed of marrying. He does so many small acts of service for me that make me feel so special. He treats me so well and tells me often that he loves me. I love our cuddles and our talks and watching movies on Saturday night. I'm also thankful for the hard work he puts into his job at the potato factory, making money and providing for us. Our one year anniversary is coming up soon and I can't wait to celebrate the best decision I ever made.
I'm also grateful for our little apartment, it was a miracle that we got this apartment and that it all worked out in the way that it did. It suits me and Dallin just fine.
I'm also thankful for my family and everything that they have done for me. They helped to shape me into who I am today. I'm so grateful for annoying little brothers who I love and miss. I'm so grateful for both my parents and everything that they did for me and for my brothers.
I'm thankful for my background and the chance I had to be raised on a farm. It has taught be so much and I'm proud to be an Idaho farmgirl. It's one of the reasons me and Dallin fit so well for each other. We are both just a couple of pipe movin, tractor riding farmkids.
We may have a lot of homework on our plate and rexburg may be super freezing but I really have a lot to be thankful for.
I live a pretty dang good life.

Real Talk.
Right now college is cooking disasters, crappy classes and exhaustion.
Real talk.
Getting used to the whole college flow is exhausting. Homework, and lots of it. Hardly anytime to relax with Dallin. Between him working and going to classes and doing homework, we don't get a lot of quality time. Plus I have the crappiest class in the world. It was supposed to be an easy class about home and family management, but it's my hardest class and I'm not even learning about the home and family.
Also, cooking has been an adventure. I'm learning a lot about what NOT to do in the kitchen. There have been flames. There have been a few overcooked items. And I burnt soup. There is nothing worse than burnt soup. Let me tell ya.
Right now life isn't perfect, but that's how life is and its okay. Things will always be up and down but it will always work out. God is great that way. Trust in him.

Moving Out, Moving In, and Starting School
We moved out of Dad's basement last Thursday to head back up to college. Dad hauled our stuff up to Rexburg with his truck and we followed him there.
I was both a little sad and excited to move. I was really excited to finally have our own place again. Living with the family is great, but it's definitely good to have your own place. I was a little anxious too, especially while we were moving all our stuff into our new place. If you know me very well, you know that I have anxiety. And that anxiety kicked in when we moved our stuff in to that bare, empty apartment. I heard the noise of all the cars and the construction and it was so different than the quiet peace of home.Eventually, once we got all our stuff moved in and unpacked how we wanted, I felt a bit better and tried to make it feel more at home with a couple decorations.
Now we are all settled in and feel much more at home. I have yet to finish decorating and will post pictures of the apartment once its decorated.
Dallin started work at Wilcox Fresh, a potato company. He works in the evenings cleaning the equipment. We were blessed Dallin was able to get this job our second day here!
Our first few days of school have been good. Its just really different being back on campus and trying to get in the swing of things. Dallin is starting his Plant Science and Technology degree. I think he's going to enjoy his classes. I'm just working on getting my Associates in General Studies. I'm also taking a few courses geared towards Marriage, Family and Parenting. My dream is to be a stay at home mom, so I'll try to take classes that will prepare me for that! I'm excited for those classes.
Sometime I'll post some pictures of us on campus... if it ever stops raining!

Summer Has Ended
Okayyyyy... So I haven't posted in over a month. My computer died on me and unfortunately was unable to be fixed. Luckily, they were able to save my pictures and documents, ect. So today I just bought a new computer and am finally able to update the blog. Mostly I am going to play catch up and summarize the rest of summer!
We've been able to do a lot of fun things together this summer and have definitely enjoyed our break from school!
We went camping! We drove up to Mt. Harrison and camped at Bennet Springs. It was fun to go camping just the two of us!
We also went to lagoon with my mom, Gabe, and Ethan! Dallin rode the Rocket like he's brave or something. Ethan won a dragon and Dallin won me the cutest little ducky!
We had fun at the fair watching Gabe and Ethan show their 4-H Sheep!
Durring fair week was the annual Harris Pond reunion with Dallin's family!
And also, big news, my dad married Lona, a gal that he had been dating for months. It was such a great day! Lona is amazing and I also gained a sister, Isabel! I'm very thankful for both of them and love them very much!
